Anne Shiels

Anne is a leadership consultant and executive coach with decades of hands on business experience, particularly when it comes to managing significant organisational change and transformation. Her work has taken her around the world in a wide variety of industries in FTSE, employee owned and family businesses. She now combines her coaching and consulting work with a Non- Executive portfolio  where she currently is on the Board of the Newcastle Building Society and chairs its Remuneration Committee.

Having sat in the shoes of the senior leaders she now supports, Anne understands the challenges facing today’s leaders and she brings a pragmatic and commercial focus to her work, striving to build strong relationships with a warm and engaging approach.

She is passionate about supporting leaders to build the courage and confidence to bring all aspects of themselves into their work, understanding that using the head alone is not enough to solve today’s complex challenges. She also focuses on encouraging collaboration and diversity of thought and style in leadership teams. She draws on a variety of tools and models to underpin her work, tailoring her approach to the people and cultures of the organisations she works with and the outcomes they are seeking.

Anne holds a BA in English Studies from Stirling University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Executive Coaching from Middlesex University. She is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation and holds a Diploma in Coaching Supervision.

In her spare time Anne loves to travel and enjoys all aspects of great food and wine. She is learning to work with reiki and continues to battle continuously with her golf handicap.
