She is an ‘engaged practitioner’ meaning she works creatively with people in their communities to encourage creative exploration, personal and social development, informal learning and community capacity building.
With a life-long commitment to working with communities, Carol often brings together other artists and creative practitioners to co-facilitate community engagement, workshops, courses, events and practitioner training. She is a qualified and broadly experienced youth and community worker, having worked for many years as a senior practitioner, manager and trainer for local authority and third sector organisations.
Carol is an accredited coach and Action Learning Facilitator offering individual coaching for creative lives and business, using Relational Dynamics, GROW method, creative exploration and mindfulness techniques. She offers group coaching and Action Learning for community groups and organisations and SMEs. She is a Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs.
Dividing her time between the UK and Italy, Carol is based in Middlesbrough, where she is currently developing a Heritage Craft and Arts Centre. With the support of Oasis Foundation she will be developing a business plan for this centre over the summer of 2019.
