Organisational Development: How it works

BTG Organisational Development How It Works

Our experienced consultants and facilitators have designed, managed and facilitated Whole Organisational Development interventions including:

Our responses are designed to suit the needs of the organisation and the individuals and teams within it.

We help you engage with strategy, context, leadership, people, processes, structures, as well as the processes and managing of change, focusing on longer-term trends.

We also bring a depth of understanding about the shadow sides of organisational life and the skills to work with it.

Determining the need

In today’s world there is an increasing need to move from a problem-solving approach to a new paradigm approach (the solutions to many issues are no longer in most organisations’ toolkits – they have to look outside of their own perspectives and experiences).

For a few organisations, they have to go further.

A new paradigm is not enough, they face the challenge of having to develop and work within a changing worldview, the most challenging of all change requirements.

Working in partnership

We provide support to establish and embed new organisational cultures – for example fostering partnership and co-working, developing self and peer strategies and assessment, shifting from hierarchy to mesh approaches, and assisting in the development of evaluation methodologies including collaborative supervision, appraisal and accountability mechanisms.

We can help you nurture deep leadership and more agile management capacity; develop internal mentors; discover applied approaches to complexity and chaos; design collaborative, co-creative research to explore your questions; and design projects and programmes.

Other services to support Organisational Development include one-to-one executive development, team formation and development, conflict facilitation and resolution, workforce development and individual wellbeing.

We can also help with equipping Boards and guiding governance.

Working globally

We undertake consultancy and development projects across the world and our core people have facilitated global inquiry and development processes in Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America.

We designed and supported the first African UN Global Compact Learning Forum in Ghana.

Oasis is a founding partner of global and UK-based leadership initiatives. We work in partnership through these communities with over 70 global companies and international business schools and we have published international materials on Whole Person Learning and collaboration.

Nick Ellerby is senior advisor to the UNGC/EFMD Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative, and a member of the ForeSight Global Strike Team; Claire Maxwell is designing, with international business schools, an approach to Globally Responsible Leadership to be integrated into the development of future business leaders; and Zena Bernacca is currently seconded for a year as Chief Executive Director of Hospice Africa Uganda.
