Focus, experience and interests
I have many years of project and business management training and experience.
For most of my life I have worked in the Arts – as a Textile Designer, a Community Artist and for 10 years as Director of a Contemporary Art and Craft Gallery in the Midlands.
For over 25 years, I have been facilitating people to learn and develop. This passion in understanding how we learn led to discovering The Oasis School of Human Relations when I moved to the North of England. My first encounter with one of their directors, Bryce Taylor, was in 2001 when he was contracted to provide a report, evaluation and recommendations for development, in the voluntary organisation I was working for at the time. Subsequently I undertook the Facilitator Styles programme and became committed to the principles of Whole Person Learning.
I am a coach, mentor and trainer. I have undertaken the Louise Hay’s Leadership Training programme.
I am an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner. I am a member of Coachville and the Graduate School of Coaching in the USA and the Association of Coaching UK. I am constantly updating my methods and learning new ways of thinking, skills, and different approaches that I can add to my toolkit.
I have an Adult Teaching Certificate in Embroidery and a Certificate in Teaching English as a foreign language. I have also taught craft activities and English as a Foreign Language. I am now undertaking a part time Fine Art degree – something I have always wanted to do.
