Leadership, Life and Learning
                formerly The Developing Manager

                Can't Ask of Others...

                Who for?

Managers and leaders who want to deepen their understanding of the changing nature of leadership and management, and to develop people, project and systems strategies relevant to their own context.

Those interested in their understanding being stretched and in exploring new approaches to management and leadership, and achieving a developmental step in their human relations practice.

                Benefits

The most important are those determined by the individual managers; this is not a traditional programme, it challenges participants at many levels to develop in new ways. Previous participants have highlighted the following:

                • flexibility in aligning managerial response with organisational need
                • improved self management and the application of skills within the human dimension of organisational life
                • thinking rather than reacting as a way of enhancing strategic practice
                • bringing to the fore, underused or even unrecognised abilities
                • developing the person in practice
                • building on established strengths and unlearning unhelpful behaviours

Additional benefits highlighted by past participants can be found in the prospectus.

                Programme elements

                • modelling the process of effective relationship
                • developing individual and group capacity to manage ambiguity, uncertainty and complexity
                • opportunity to make a diagnosis of self, team and organisation and to determine ‘right’ action, in collaboration with others
                • managing and leading frameworks and approaches relevant to the needs to the individual and group
                • mentoring and peer learning groups are core elements.

                The Oasis approach

                • Our approach to learning allows the individual manager to create a bespoke process to meet the specific needs of the situation they are working within.
                • The programme is applied, experiential and based in dialogue, focusing on real work life issues.
                • Participants are encouraged to practise and develop their new approaches and skills in a peer based learning context.
