Over the years many people who have been involved with learning at Oasis have gone on to become part of an informal network of practice that is interested in new or ancient ways of helping.
‘Energy healing’, ‘energy work’, are terms sometimes used, and there are more and more people who have an interest in non-traditional ways of healing. Whether we call it ‘healing’ or something else – many of these ways depend upon a deep sensitivity on the part of the helper to move beyond understanding in words the nature of the situation of the person being helped to becoming more ‘aligned’ with the realities and experience of the other person, using techniques drawn from many places – martial arts; new paradigm ideas, vibrational sensitivity and so on.
Oasis offers a number of workshops from time to time to explore these other non-traditional forms of working – Shamanism, Holotropic Breathwork and so on, but we have had no place on the calendar for a regular gathering of those interested in coming together to work in non-traditional ways together.
Whilst Eric Cassirer was alive and visiting to run his workshop we had a very rich ‘space’ to come together and under his guidance practice together, ;to learn from one another and try new things out. In such a ‘space’ everyone has things they can contribute and things they can learn. It’s just a question of finding out how to match them up and be creative in working it all out, so that there’s no time wondering what’s going on: most of the time we can be pretty sure we won’t ‘know’, in the usual sense of the word.
All you need to make this worthwhile is curiosity; an openness to ‘play’, to experiment and to share something of what happens. It asks for a willingness to bring yourself and be both a participant and helper; to be open to new learning and to practice new skills together – a peer based network in fact - or a HEN party.
The HEN workshop takes place in the autumn of the year and complements and contrasts with the Retreat which takes place in the spring. The Retreat offers a rich time for individual contemplation and inner work, with almost no structure and no interference from anyone – a chance to find out more about self with others. The HEN party is an opportunity to express and explore new aspects of practice, new areas of experience in the company of others who are willing to open themselves to subtle levels of energetic understanding and non traditional forms of practice.
You can attend the HEN party for a day, for the whole time or for a session. The important thing is to be there at least for a time so that you both experience and offer something to the growing network of practitioners what is gathering in preparation for the next step.
If you are thinking about attending and need to know more ask Bryce.
It is an invitation open to all, but will be restricted to a group of no more than 12.
