Lynda is a qualified nurse, a Specialist Practitioner in Occupational Health, has additional training in Counselling and the Management of Change, and over thirty years of experience in the NHS, Local Authority, Voluntary Sector, Emergency and Defence Services, Business and Industry, She brings an integrated and applied approach to her work with Oasis. Her background reflects an understanding of a variety of organisational cultures from competitive high risk racing teams and major city hospitals, to rural product-based companies, voluntary organisations, and the armed forces.
In 1998, Lynda pioneered the first fully integrated staff care package for organisations in the North of England, providing both developmental and therapeutic provision for body and mind.
As an Occupational Health Advisor, Lynda has enabled large organisations, and smaller businesses, to manage the health of staff as they undergo widespread change. This has provided her with a rich understanding of working with the tensions that arise in balancing both employee and employer needs.
Having held positions in multi-national, UK-wide and regional organisations, Lynda's role now focuses on providing tailor-made responses to individuals, teams and whole organisations, and finding solutions that meet the varied demands upon each level of the organisation.
She has a particular interest in developing, planning and implementing Occupational Health as part of an integrated Peoplecare Provision, and Post Trauma work. As a counsellor she has worked with individuals and groups in supporting them after Traumatic incidents.
In her spare time she is network coordinator for a National Network of Counsellors working in Occupational Health & Staff Support, County Trauma Counsellor and Critical Incident Risk Assessor with St John Ambulance in North Yorkshire and Teesside.
