Focus, experience and interests

Judi Steel has been involved with Oasis since 1993 and has been employed by the organisation since 2002.

Judi has a background in the NHS working as a nurse in Emergency Care both in this country and overseas.  Through this work she has developed a knowledge and empathy with those experiencing distress through life events.

During the 1990’s, Judi trained as a counsellor with Oasis and went on to work with a bereavement service in Leeds and then for Leeds MIND.  She widened her interest in working with people and trained as a massage therapist to integrate other options in the management of stress.

Judi was employed by Oasis in July 2002 as administrator for Oasis Peoplecare when she was responsible for developing the infrastructure to support a growing and successful service and was appointed Peoplecare Contracts Manager in 2004.

Through the work she has gained insight and experience in translating organisational needs into reality to ensure that Oasis Peoplecare provides a high quality service.

She has a particular interest in ensuring that clients, practitioners and organisations with whom we work are all met as individuals with individual needs.
