A line manager for the bulk of my career, I have worked in manufacturing, leisure, travel and financial services.
Originally specialising in Information Technology, I held Board responsibility for the systems function before a number of general management posts that included Business Change, Sales, Strategy and Planning, Customer Service and Operations.
A constant thread through every role has been leadership of major, organisation-wide projects. These included restructuring a business, integrating an acquisition, launching new products, developing new channels to market (internet and call centre), performance management and many new systems.
The most rewarding aspect of my working life has been supporting and developing others to meet the almost endless challenges faced by today’s organisations and the individuals working within them. I now focus wholly on coaching and mentoring and am accredited by the Association for Coaching.
Executive Development
I have a passion for seeing people grow and develop. Rather than being a disinterested adviser, I like to collaborate and work to achieve a common aim.
I enjoy exploring issues and ideas and am really interested in the unique ways each organisation works and the behaviour patterns of the people involved.
I think that mentoring should be based on mutual respect and trust. To help achieve this, my values include openness, clarity and integrity.
My approach involves being accepting, empathic and authentic. I am both supportive and challenging. I listen carefully, am direct when voicing my views and always make room for laughter.
