Focus, Experience and Interests
Claire worked as an independent consultant nationally and internationally for over 10 years before joining the Oasis Directors’ Group in 2011.
She specialises in developing creative and collaborative approaches to whole organisational development, particularly in relation to integrating or re-configuring diverse teams, services and systems. She is also involved in team and individual mentoring.
After an initial foray into the world of theatre and films, Claire worked as a film publicist for an internationally renowned animation company in London and was a founder member of a fringe theatre group. Despite enjoying this world, Claire’s desire to engage in something more socially challenging led her to work at management level in social care, qualifying as a social worker and specialising in child protection and working with adolescent women.
She has lectured at a number of colleges and universities and is formally qualified as a teacher.
Her final term of employment in social services was at senior management level leading internal change processes. It was during this period that she gained a Master’s degree, with her dissertation analysing approaches to change and leadership in hierarchical organisations.
Her extensive career in the public sector fostered and encouraged a deeply held interest in the process of change; whether or not the change was imposed or chosen, on an individual or organisational level.
Claire has maintained a significant involvement with the theatre and spheres of creativity. She is interested in integrating creativity with collaborative approaches and has studied Socio Drama and Action Methods.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Chair of the RSA Northern Committee as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Queen’s Hall Arts, a thriving theatre and art centre in Northumberland.
